Yesterday was a powerful kickoff to the ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ฝ๐ฝ๐น๐ ๐ช๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐พ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐โsetting the tone for something much bigger than a programme.
This 14-week hybrid initiative supports SMEs like mine in scaling impact and stepping into major supply chain opportunities with greater clarity, confidence, and readiness.
It’s not about performanceโitโs about ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป.
It’s about ๐๐โ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ณ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, so under-represented foundersโespecially neurodiverse womenโcan step into spaces that havenโt always felt accessible. Not because we lack value, but because the systems werenโt built to be easily navigated.
The session was thoughtfully delivered, full of real-world insight, and focused on creating lasting, meaningful change for small and growing businesses.
Traditional supplier pipelines can be intimidating and opaque.

Why this programme mattersโfor neurodivergent founders
Letโs be honest: Navigating procurement and bid writing as a small business is complex enough. But for under-represented foundersโespecially neurodiverse women like meโitโs not just complexity that gets in the way. Itโs the language. The hidden norms. The unspoken codes of access can lock down systems before youโve even begun.
This programme is changing that. Itโs not about performanceโitโs about preparation. Itโs about demystifying processes that have historically excluded businesses with nontraditional structures, different ways of thinking, or those built from lived experience rather than legacy.
Weโre not being โfixed.โ Weโre being equipped.
The power of clarity and confidence
The first session was thoughtfully delivered and packed with real-world insight. It focused not just on knowledge but on creating long-term, meaningful change for small and growing businesses with something tangible to offerโbut often get lost in a maze of technicalities.
This isnโt just about teaching us how to jump through hoops. Itโs about rewriting the rules so that more diverse suppliers can enter the room fully informed and genuinely prepared.
Because readiness isn’t just about checklists but confidence, clarity, and access.
The bigger picture: business that includes everyone

Traditional supplier pipelines can be intimidatingโsometimes even alienating. But this initiative is opening those doors with intention. And I can feel the shift.
For neurodiverse foundersโthose who think differently, work differently, and build differentlyโthis matters. It sends a clear message: You belong in these spaces, and we will help you navigate them without losing who you are to fit in.
Thank you to the visionaries
A heartfelt thank you to Dr Yvonne Thompson (CBE, DL, FCL) and the incredible team behind the scenesโCydnie Thompson, Alison Reeves (The Bid Writer), Rhian Longley, and Sherece Rainford.
Your leadership and commitment are the heartbeat of this experience.
Final thoughts
Being part of this network reminds me that meaningful change doesnโt happen by accident. It happens when we build bridges, remove barriers, and empower people whoโve been on the outside for too long to walk inโnot as guests but as valued contributors.
This is what inclusion looks like in action.
This is how we do business differently.
If youโre a neurodivergent, supplier diversity advocate, or someone championing access and equity in the workplace, reach out.
This is the kind of shift we need to talk more about.
