Casa Fuzetta in Olhão, Portugal

Olhão is an old fishing town — and we love it for it’s down to earth charm, cobbled streets, colourful tiles and the (unexpectedly) vibrant art scene. International creatives have settled in here in a serious way, giving the white-painted, sun-drenched town an air of bohemian sophistication.

 

The town also rubs shoulders with a few stunning islands: Armona, Culatra, Farol and Deserta. The first two — Ilha da Culatra and Ilha da Armona — belong to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a protected area with a unique ecosystem, featuring swamps, lagoons and sand dunes.

Casa Fuzetta:

Casa Fuzetta is a historic villa located in the heart of Olhao’s old town. Originally, a classical gentleman’s residence, it was lovingly restored by the new owners. They called upon the skills of the local craftsmen to balance the villa’s original architecture with contemporary design and comfort — including a spectacular rooftop pool and a magical meditation room.

Part of the luxury is convenience. Located in the old town, the markets and a wide selection of family-run restaurants are within easy walking distance of the house — as are the ferries and taxis to the outlying islands.

Since it’s been restored and re-opened, the enchanting Casa Fuzetta has been mentioned in the various international media like Forbes, Monocle, Elle and The Telegraph — just to name a few.

 

And YES, during our retreat we’ll have the entire Casa Fuzetta to ourselves.

The Algarve (the southern region of Portugal) is one of the few areas in Europe to enjoy 300 days of sunshine per year — and so is Olhão. Pack your bags and let’s escape the winter cold!

Getting there:

 

Easy peasy. Casa Fuzetta is within a 15-minute drive from Faro airport, which itself is less than a 3-hour flight from London and only just over 3 hours from many other European destinations

Food

Get ready for a dance of flavours, pleasure and nourishment. The food at the retreat will be prepared by excellent private chefs, who will make sure we indulge in meals that are not only delicious, but also healthy. 

 

Expect 3 vegetarian meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with the exception of the first day (dinner only) and the last day (breakfast only).

 

Coffee, tea and water will be available to you at all times. You’ll also get a bottle of wine in your welcome package.

 

If you’re vegan or have any allergies, please let us know and we’ll accommodate you. We’d love to spoil your taste buds.

Yvette Puliga

Yvette Puliga is the Founder of YPLMS — a Lifestyle concierge service for people who want to take their personal and professional lives to the next level — while being free from overwhelm, frustration, worry and self-doubt.

 

Her journey started nearly 25 years ago, when (after a life-altering event) Yvette started her first mentoring business and turned her career around. She has worked as a life, health and business coach, providing a more fulfilled lifestyle through transformational mind-body solutions.

 

She puts her clients back in control of their lives, by guiding and supporting them each step of the way with her team of experts and specialists.

 

Aside from business, she herself is a midlife woman, mother, wife and entrepreneur, and she feels fully conversant with the challenges this can bring, both from a personal and professional level.

 

She’s also often mistaken as working within fashion, due to her quirky sense of style and peculiar attention to detail.

 

Yvette loves sport in any form (as long as it doesn’t involve water)… but since she loves challenges more, she pushed herself to overcome that fear on a recent retreat, too! Who knows, maybe surfing will become her next thing?

Kat Achtelik

Kat is a copywriter, meditation and Yoga teacher — and a creator of Cheeky Yoga Club.She’s passionate about movement, psychology, Tantra and everything that makes us feel alive.

 

She started her adventure with personal growth back in 2011, while working as a copywriter for Mindvalley in Malaysia. However, that still didn’t save her from making some pretty self-destructive lifestyle choices. 

 

She ended up not only overweight, but also suffering from severe lower back pain… not to mention the rock-bottom self-esteem and missing self-love.

 

This is when she decided to try this ‘yoga thingy’ that people were raving about. 5 years (and 55 pounds less) later, she lives and breathes self-discovery, growth and healing. 

 

Although she received her yoga teacher certification in Vinyasa-Ashtanga, her approach is a mix of different styles of movement — and is all about keeping it FUN-ctional.

 

Aside from business and yoga, Kat is a globetrotter and a photographer (which even landed her a job as a travel journalist in the past). She loves learning new skills and recently added a screenwriting certificate to her tool kit. As cheesy as it sounds, she’s passionate about life in all its lunacy and majesty.

The retreat will officially finish on March 1st (Sunday), BUT… if you want to stay and hang out with us for one more day, the accommodation is on us! We can chat, chill by the pool… digest and integrate the experience of the retreat before returning to our daily lives.

Our last paid meal with the private chefs will be on Sunday morning, so from there onwards, it’s all about our hunting skills. No worries though, there are plenty of restaurants in the town. We will check out together on March 2nd (Monday).

Price per person in a luxurious same-sex shared room with two single beds and ensuite bathroom:

Deposit: To secure your place, we ask for a non-refundable deposit (30% of the full price).

From 16 weeks until 8 weeks (about 2 months) before the start of the retreat : 50% refund.
